Editing
This is the final stage of your video. It's where everything comes together into a coherent piece and gives life to the script. Editing is when the best takes are selected and combined with good transitions, special effects, graphics, voice over, music, and other elements. Editing or post production is also when color correction takes place and sound levels are checked and evened out. If needed, this is an opportunity to deal with something that needs to be fixed, changed or corrected from the shoot.
As with pre-production and production, this aspect of your video should either be done by a professional or professionally done by you. A professional company will charge you about $150 an hour for editing. But if they know what they are doing, they will do it a lot quicker and of course more professionally than a novice.

Talent costs (voice over and actors)
The guy in sales may have a great voice, but does he know how to deliver a line? Maybe yes. Maybe no. Audition him and see. Make sure that the major decision makers and higher ups approve of the talent you plan to use in your production. Next to hiring the right company for the job, using the right talent for your production is probably the second most important consideration you'll make. The last thing you want to hear from the higher ups after reviewing the video is, "What were you thinking?!"
Non-union talent is less expensive than union talent. Also, union talent may charge on a per use basis, whereas non-union talent can have an unlimited use provision in the release. Speaking of releases, ALWAYS get one. Make sure it spells everything out very clearly.

Props, sets, etc.
Be proactive. Props, locations and sets you'll need should all be identified in your script or some related document. Someone needs to be responsible for organizing everything before the production starts. It's not a good time when someone has to figure out where to get an easel and a thick red marking pen in the middle of a shoot because no one was responsible for getting it to the shoot beforehand or no one thought about even using these materials Organization is the key to success. Someone needs to be organized, proactive and responsible for every little thing you'll need for your production.

Lighting and Sound requirements
Audio and lighting are often taken for granted by novice filmmakers. However, when they are bad, they overshadow everything and they're all anyone can think about when watching a poorly produced video. For instance, using top of the line microphones or a boom mic are the way to go if you want good audio. If you have multiple audio sources, a mixer is a must. Shadows may be intriguing in an Alfred Hitchcock thriller, but look unprofessional in a corporate video if they weren't intended. Renting lights and proper audio and/or using a professional company to make sure things look and sound right is a lot less expensive than having to reshoot a do-it-yourself video.
