Dailymotion, one of YouTube’s biggest video editing competitors in the social media videographer Chicago sphere, is teaming up with another digital start-up, Flattr, to offer content producers a new method of making some cash. Flattr is a social, micropayment program that lets its users make automated donations with just a click. Here’s a brief explanation from the the Flattr site.
Pick how much you’d like to spend per month. Then, whenever you see a Flattr button on a blog or website that you like, click it.
We count up all of your clicks at the end of each month and distribute your monthly spend between everything you’ve clicked on. Simple, right? Of course, you’re also welcome to add a Flattr button to your site and get other people’s support too.
So there are a few steps to get this working and you need to consider how much you’re willing to spend on user generated content before you can start supporting others. Likewise, you might not expect to gain that much money from fans since your audience needs to take steps before they can start microfunding you or other users. But you can always consider locating current Flattr users and targeting your videographer Chicago material at them.
