You can try to deny it all you want, but America’s Funniest Home Videos (AFV) is totally the original YouTube. Remember all those funny cat videos with Bob Saget’s narration? Makes sense that they have a YouTube channel, doesn’t it? The AFV page has just signed a deal with YouTube curators FullScreen to manage the channel. From a videographer standpoint, this means that more people than ever are probably going to see 40 people falling down in 30 seconds. But why would AFV need to partner with FullScreen? Seems like the content is pure quality—who doesn’t like seeing Grandpa getting hit in the crotch?—but maybe AFV wanted to reach out to trendy, plugged-in online users who may only vaguely remember that AFV was ever on TV.
