An all new LEGO video contest

LEGO, and their partners are teaming up to start an online video machinima contest. The Ones and Zeros Pixelshow, a non-profit group committed to promoting the digital arts, is hosting a worldwide contest, ”Build-a-Brickbuster,” to find and highlight the best LEGO video production animators and LEGO Universemachinima creators from around the world. Original LEGO creations – with virtual bricks in the LEGO Universe online game or with footage of actual LEGO bricks and minifigures – can be used to create a winning masterpiece.

Creators can submit original videos until the deadline of August 5, 2011, for a chance to win exclusive prizes sponsored by the LEGO Group, like collectible LEGO sets, premium LEGO Universe memberships and more. Winning submissions will also be screened at the Build-a-Brickbuster Pixelfest in Broomfield, Colorado on August 13-14, 2011, and will be included on the Bill Plympton Presents Tinsel Toys DVD later this year.

Start making your LEGO machinima masterpiece now and submit before the early August deadline! There are three easy ways to enter – upload videos to http://www.buildabrickbuster.com/submit.php, email links to submissions@buildabrickbuster.com, or mail submissions to the contest organizers.

Contests like this can be a great way to brand your Chicago videographer business with some video, without investing in all the production costs. Often, fans of your company will be happy to make content for free, if you reward their efforts with some kind of gesture.
