Let’s be honest, most of the time people spend browsing blogs and Twitter happens during normal business hours. That’s why a lot of blogs witness traffic dips on the weekends. The same is probably true of holidays. So should you stop producing online content because your audience is vacationing in Aruba?
No!
An absent audiences creates a few unique opportunities for you and your website. For one, this is a good time to create some keyword heavy content to boost SEO. The type of stuff that no one would want to read anyway, but might get noticed by a search engine crawler.
This could also be a good opportunity to experiment. Put together a new video blog, or play around with Photoshop. Try to create something unique. Of course, there’s a chance that readers won’t like the new material, and that’s why you’re putting it out when hardly anyone is looking. If it’s worthwhile, however, people will notice it. At least in a few weeks when they’re catching up on stuff they missed while in Aruba.
