Interview Video in Naperville, Illinois
We recently shot a interview video for A Place for Mom, a Seattle based company with senior citizen, assisted and independent living communities throughout the nation. They asked us to film interviews at the Hotel Astria in Naperville, Illinois.

Our Videographer Discussing the Shot with Interviewee
They requested that we use a FS5 camera and a set designer. We hired a set designer to strategically place plants and lights in the room, and the client was very happy with the results.
In this case, they preferred to do the editing, so we turned the footage over to them on a hard drive.
There’s More to Interview Video Than Meets the Eye
There are so many things that need to be right for a video interview or testimonial to go right. For instance, the audio needs to be excellent. This entails micing the speaker correctly. The mic has to be placed correctly so that it doesn’t rub on the person’s clothing. It also has to be positioned so that it’s in the least obvious place for the shot.

Good lighting is a must as well. We use a Kino Flo light kit that has three LED lights. They’re effective, but won’t distract the interviewee during their discussion. Speaking of lighting, if you’re using the sun to help illuminate the shot, you had better do it quickly, as when the sun changes position in the sky or a cloud gets in the way, the light will obviously change and your shot will look different.
This only scratches the surface of what needs to be kept in mind for a successful interview shoot. If you have a trade show coming up and would like us to produce a video interview or testimonial for your company, please contact us.
