The holiday season, that time of year when people forget it’s cold and buy a bunch of gifts for friends and loved ones, is a commercial dream come true. But the need to spend money is a driving factor in another, more digital trend that Liveclicker has uncovered.
After monitoring 7500 videos across 25 e-commerce sites, Liveclicker found that video production views increase 61% this time of year, and the average e-commerce video generates $2026 after Cyber Monday. Likewise, each video earns retailers about $3.74 per play, and videos under 30 seconds have a 4.54% conversation rate (that’s the percentage of viewers who make a purchase immediately after viewing the video).
Businesses and video producers should consider this habit for future holiday or shopping seasons. Retailers are probably aware what time of year they get the most business (other than Christmas time), and having a powerful, convincing, and informative video to engage potential customers could turn those maybes into must haves.
