Video production has its high and lows, and some of those are documented on this blog. But REELSEO recently wrote about a new government videographer Chicago project that leaves something to be desired.
The state of Massachusetts has created a social media campaign that has local celebrities talking about why they love the state.
Celebrity endorsements have been around for a long time, and are a proven method of marketing. That’s nothing new. So on the one hand, you can’t blame the State of Massachusetts for going this route. But after settling on celebrity endorsements… it’s almost like they simply stopped planning and strategizing.
Below is an example of one of these videos.
These videos have a high production quality, but they don’t seem to have any real purpose or audience, and the talent just isn’t convincing. Massachusetts is a nice state, but these videos don’t offer a compelling reason to actually visit. Perhaps because the videographer Chicago projects are relatively long, and get boring fast.
