Unless you don’t mind using only music in the public domain, you’ll probably want to license music for your video production because getting busted for copyright infringement is not fun- to say the least. But if you’re not trying to use a commercially popular song, you probably won’t need to consult a lawyer. Instead, consider licensing a song through one of many music licensing libraries on the Internet. You can play a short sample of each, then pay a fee to use the song (which usually depends on how you plan on using the song.) But generally, the cost will be around $100-$150 per song for unlimited usage.
