You’ve seen the video, you’ve seen the backstage shots, now check out our timeline of the production process. It might surprise you.
Aug. 16: Contacted by Rauxa to do a training video editing for Sears. Rauxa is based in California, but have a job to do near Chicago. We promptly look over the project and send them a budget.
Aug. 31: Rauxa has yet to decide if they want us to do it.
Sept. 6: Job granted. Let’s get to work. Rauxa wrote the script, but it’s up to us to create a story board, do casting, and find a location. Because of a Rauxa’s deadline, shooting must begin in less than a week.
Sept. 12: Shooting day. We’ve done some rehearsing, found our cast, their costumes, established a location, and we’ve even hired some extra hands for the video production project. This is a 2 camera shoot.
Sept. 22: Due date. We had 10 days to edit and insert after effects. We’re working two cameras worth of footage from a full day shoot. The project is delivered on time.
Although this timeline spans about a month, for a job this big this was done relatively fast. Come back tomorrow to hear the lessons learned from this project.
