How to Turn an eBook into a Tutorial Video

Turn your eBook into a video production

ebook video production

So you have an ebook on Amazon or some other site and you are trying to parlay it into something bigger that will hopefully sell. Since we’re becoming a nation of watchers rather than readers, you may want to consider making a video production from your written masterpiece. Whether you do this yourself or hire a video production company to do it, you want to make sure it looks professional.

An eBook video production:

Of course, it depends on the nature of your ebook. This works best with a self improvement or how-to book where you already have photos and other images and don’t need sets, actors or other expensive aspects associated with video production.

Let’s say you have a how-to book about wellness. The first thing you need to do to make it into a video is record a voice over. You or a professional narrator can read the book and this creates the voice over narration that will be ‘visualized.’ You’ll use photos, illustrations and graphics that you already legally purchased for your book that were inserted to break up the text or illustrate a section.

To retain the viewer’s attention, you may want to increase the number of images. You can use the ‘Ken Burns effect’ to animate or pan across each image, making them come alive to some degree. This approach combined with your voice over will allow you to produce an engaging video of your ebook. Since you already have the audio portion done, you may as well create an mp3 that people can download for a fee of course. So with a bit of effort, you can have three offerings instead of one.

The video needs to look good, especially since you’re producing it inexpensively. So make sure either you or a professional video production company does a good job editing these images.
