Jeremy Scott says videos resumes are “most definitely the wave of the future.”
Woah. If that’s true, getting a job is about to get a lot harder.
I’m hard pressed to think of any type of website or business that wouldn’t benefit in some way from using video. It’s creeping into a lot more realms beyond just “personal entertainment.” It makes perfect sense to create video resumes. If you’re a young professional looking for a new job, I would enthusiastically encourage you to create one for yourself.
By no means is this bad advice, but it should come with a caveat. Making videos can be challenging. And when you want to make a video that represents who you are, personally and professionally, it needs to be handled very, very carefully by a videographer Chicago. Although the video above is creative and effective, it doesn’t have very good audio, and the portfolio portion is pretty hard to follow.
Scott points out that videographer Chicago resumes aren’t new, but now might be the first time that they aren’t considered a joke. Surely, a good video can help land a job, but if you’re not confident in your video production skills, a well-written resume is a safer bet than a bad video.
