YouTube gets into the news business with YouTube News

Via a report from ReelSeo.com, YouTube announced yesterday that they would begin a new initiative that will help users find breaking news videos more easily.

The new YouTube video news feed can be found at YouTube’s stand along news and politics blog CitizenTube.com. The YouTube News feed will aggregate the best and most newsworthy user-submitted articles, and filter through submitted videos to make the most newsworthy more discoverable.

Personally, I think this is a great idea as these days I’m always scanning YouTube for amateur videos of major news events. A filter and more easily discoverable YouTube news videos could become a go-to hub for news.
