Tired of waiting for your favorite cat video to load on YouTube? Wait no more! Our wait time is soon to be reduced.
For the past year, YouTube has been working on cutting down delays, and it looks like they’ve finally unrolled their hard work. One major aspect is the video player itself. Currently the website loads the player for each video production you view. When you click a related video, it loads the player tool all over again.
The new update, however, keeps the player available for the duration of your video-watching session. It also does something interesting with preloading: YouTube will predict which video you will watch next and begin loading it before you click. Convenient? Yes. Scary? A little. But if it makes a faster video, why not!
