Anyone looking for more editing options from YouTube got some good news today. The video hosting site now features Slomo in the Enhancements tool of the Video Editor. This new effect can also be applied to any currently uploaded videos. From the sample video YouTube is showing off, the effect is pretty smooth. At 1/8th speed, the hustle and bustle of Times Square is slowed down to a leisurely pace. While many users may not care about the new slow motion effect, serious amateur filmmakers will relish in this new option. Now we just have to wait and see when the first YouTube slomo video goes viral. Is it going to be a funny cat video or a montage of people falling down at 1/8th speed?
